Dragon Paper Craft Template
Build an impressive 3D paper dragon with this printable template and step-by-step assembly guide. Perfect for fantasy lovers and advanced crafters.
Materials
- 3-4 sheets of cardstock (different colors optional)
- Scissors or craft knife
- Glue or double-sided tape
- Ruler
- Toothpick for scoring
Step-by-step Instructions
1. Print and Cut the Template
Print all template pages on cardstock. Carefully cut out each piece along the solid lines. You should have body segments, wings, head, and tail pieces.
2. Score All Fold Lines
Using a ruler and toothpick, score along every dashed fold line. This ensures clean, crisp folds when assembling.
3. Assemble the Body Segments
Start with the body segments. Fold each segment along the scored lines and glue the tabs to form three-dimensional ring shapes. Connect the segments in order, largest to smallest.
4. Build the Head
Fold and glue the head piece together. Attach the jaw piece if included. Add the horns and teeth pieces. Allow the glue to dry before attaching to the body.
5. Create and Attach the Wings
Fold the wing pieces along the scored lines. Apply glue to the wing tabs and attach them to the back body segments. Angle the wings upward for a flying pose.
6. Add the Tail and Details
Assemble the tail segments from largest to smallest. Attach to the rear body segment. Add any decorative details like spikes, eyes, or scales. Your 3D paper dragon is complete!
Pro Tips
- Print on heavy cardstock (160gsm or higher)
- Score all fold lines before gluing for cleaner edges
- Work in sections — complete the body before adding wings
